Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the Inner Anatomy team, who run Inner Anatomy ("we", "us"). By using the site, the 3D app or an account, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Inner Anatomy.

For learning only

Inner Anatomy teaches how the brain is built and how it works. It is not a medical device, and nothing on it is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment. Please read our medical disclaimer, and talk to a doctor about any health question.

What you may do

• Use Inner Anatomy free of charge to learn, study and teach.
• Show it in a classroom or a presentation, and share links to any page.
• Quote short passages, with credit to Inner Anatomy and a link to the page.
• Use the open research data behind the 3D brain under its own licenses, listed on our credits page.

What you may not do

• Copy or republish large parts of the site, its text, pictures or 3D models, or present them as your own.
• Download the site in bulk, or use robots or scrapers in ways that copy it or slow it down.
• Try to break into the site, other people's accounts or our systems, or get around our limits.
• Overload the site on purpose, or disrupt it for others.
• Use Inner Anatomy for anything illegal, or pretend to be us.

Accounts

• An account is optional and free. You sign in with a passkey kept by your device or your passkey manager, and you are responsible for keeping your devices safe.
• An account is for one person. Please don't put personal information in its name.
• If you are under 13, please use Inner Anatomy without an account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or harms the site or other people.

Our content

The text, pictures, 3D models, design and code of Inner Anatomy belong to us or are used with permission, and they are protected by copyright. The anatomy data comes from open research atlases shared under their own licenses, listed on our credits page, and nothing in these terms limits what those licenses let you do with that data. "Inner Anatomy" and our logo are our names: please don't use them in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Accuracy

We check our facts against textbooks and published research, and every page lists its sources. Still, science changes and mistakes happen, so we can't promise that everything on Inner Anatomy is complete, current or free of errors. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

Other websites

We link to the sources we use and to other websites. We don't control them, and we aren't responsible for what they say or do.

Changes to Inner Anatomy

We keep improving Inner Anatomy, so features may change, move or be removed. We may also pause or stop the site or its accounts. If we plan to close accounts, we will try to give notice first.

Paid features

Inner Anatomy is free today. If we add paid features, they will come with their own terms, shown to you before you buy anything.

No warranty

Inner Anatomy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about it, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, always available, free of errors or fit for any particular purpose.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Inner Anatomy or from relying on its content. If we are found liable to you anyway, our total liability is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, and there they apply only as far as the law allows.

Ending your use

You can stop using Inner Anatomy at any time, and delete your account in the app. If you break these terms, we may stop you from using the site or your account. The sections on our content, no warranty, limits on our liability and governing law still apply after that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute will be decided by the courts of that state, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. Using Inner Anatomy after a change means you accept the new terms.
